Eine neue Studie, die jetzt im Magazin 'Nature' veröffentlicht wurde, weist nach, dass bei gleichbleibendem Emissionsverhalten der Industrienationen eine 93%-ige Wahrscheinlichkeit dafür besteht, dass sich bis zum Ende des Jahrhunderts global die Atmosphäre um mindestens 4 C° mehr erwärmt haben wird.

Zwischen den gesteckten Klimazielen und der durch nationale oder internationale Beschlüsse erfolgten Treibhausgasreduktion klafft immer noch eine große Lücke (gap). Hierüber berichtet jährlich die Umweltbehörder der Vereinten Nationen in ihrem
Emissions Gap Report
Für das Jahr 2016 ist nun der neue Bericht erschienen.

"This report estimates we are actually on track for global warming of up to 3.4 degrees Celcius. Current commitments will reduce emissions by no more than a third of the levels required by 2030 to avert disaster."
